Well, Flickr has certainly taken me on a journey, all the way down memory lane and back! I've found the shop where I used to work in Putney High Street, all the Tube stations that I frequented for getting out and about (in good weather and bad!), not to mention the many pubs that travellers continue to photograph and document. This windmill on Wimbledon Common was very close to where I was brought up. I used to love visiting it all year round: in the winter it was deserted, but in the summer you could buy ice creams at the shop. Now it's actually a museum, I've discovered. And to think I used to worry that one day it would just fall down and disintegrate. The power of tourism!

Emma the Lyme Public Library Cat
But this is definitely my sort of night-time companion - keeping an eye on things, knowing the right place to be..... and not actually having to move a muscle. It's all in the look.
Stirling the Cat and a Stack of Orange Books
Now this looks like a nice way to draw attention to the books....

Welcome to my world
I am so pleased to be here. It hasn't been a particularly arduous journey, but like all things, to arrive is very encouraging. Now I'm wondering if this is but the first step on the journey of a thousand miles..... Is there going to be enough time to ramble during these dark hours, to cover the other 999 and whatever miles.... Here goes nothing.
